SED-TV

SED TV is a form of field emission display based on surface electron conduction technology. We have extensive intellectual property in the area and in 1999 we signed a non-exclusive license agreement with Canon, Inc. for a $5.6 million up-front payment. This agreement excluded the use of electron emissions from carbon nanotubes. Recently Canon and Toshiba formed a joint venture and announced the introduction of color TVs using surface conduction electron emitting technology in 2007. The Canon license agreement does not allow Toshiba access to the Intellectual Property and we are currently involved in litigation with Canon.
