| >>Applications: |
| Efficient catalyst |
Adding Al nanoparticles to solid (rocket fuel) propellant improves combustion speed and stability and substantially increases combustion heat. |
| Conductive coating |
A coating of Al nanoparticles can be prepared in an inert environment and below the melting point of the bulk material. |
| Sintering additive |
Al is useful as a sintering additive for aluminum nitride with sintering reduced to ~300 degrees C. Mixing 5-10% aluminum with ALN particles can improve the sintering processes of ceramics, increasing density and thermal conductivity of the sintered material. Provided it is used to make a substrate for components, the thermal conductivity will increase by 10X. |
